Write daily
These are some of the ways that have immensely helped me to write more.
Write regularly.
I dont’t know what’s good and what’s bad.
I don’t know whether this will work for you or not.
What I know? This has worked for me and it will surely help you.
- Don’t write for pushing out that perfect blog.
- Reduce the friction:
- Forget about the grammar, flow, spellings, choice of words and all of those things. Words comes first and everything else at the end. So, edit at the end.
- Don’t try to write self-help
- Stop giving the fuck about audience.
Real progress in life comes from the same key idea. This idea come from Startup and software world. Build fast, deliver fast and then iterate.
MVP: Produce/Create the mvp as fast as possible and then tune.
Want to write a detailed technical blog post? Kind of demystifying articles.
Forget about getting it write from the start.
Do this instead:
Write down the core of idea. All technical details. Write down such that only you can understand it.
To the point. No fluff. No detailed explanation.
Expand it little more.
Keep doing it.
Ex: If you want to write an article about SVM, Your Goal: After reading the article, someone who don’t know the shit about SVM can understand SVM pretty easily. Not only can understand it, can understand it to that level, that even so-called ML engineers don’t know about SVM.
1st step: Write down the core of svm. Mathematical details. what you know and understand. the thing only fellow ml engineer can understand with pretty good knowledge of svm.
2nd step: Expand.
Don’t write to explain. Write to write.
The secret: Your first draft of article should be written not with motive of publishing, but with the motive of just writing.
It will reduce the friction.
And this holds true and should work for almost all kind of writing, whether it’s technical or self help. Does not matter.
- Write core.
- Expand.
I don’t write to explain now. I write to write more, putting out more content, write everyday.
Don’t aim to write lengthy articles or blog posts.
Just write down to write 2-3 lines or may be 10 lines maximum.
Reduce the friction.
Say to your mind: I will only write 2 or 3 lines. That’s it.
You’ll endup write more than that believe me.
This particular idea comes from jameclear book: atomic habit and jose rosado.
Just look at the some of post written here.
