Reflection and Logging

From the past few days, I’ve been trying to sit down, recalling what has happened, what went well and what does not, and then some advice for my future self, learning from my earlier mistakes and then setting the path forward for 2020 and later years.

But I was unable to do or perform this exercise.

It’s hard to recall what I did in the past weeks, months, and quarters.

What I went through in those particular periods.

What I learned. What I was thinking about. What I was aspiring for.

Life lessons and all of those things.

I can’t zoom out and then zoom in.

And that’s acting as a hurdle in my ability to recall and then reflect.

But then my journal notebook comes to rescue.

Not all of the details, but very important details have been written there.

I read it from the first page to the last one, the very first time.

It helped me realize my past lessons.

What I did wrong?

  • I jumped on too many things this year. Why did this happen? I did not have a clear and concise goal at the beginning.

  • Some of my insecurities show up and cost me 2 months.

Lessons learned:

  • Have a clearly defined goal. And then develop the system to follow,

  • Think about the long-term. Short term will cost you a lot in the long-term.

  • Communities are underrated. Courses are overrated.

What about you?

I would love to hear from your experience.

Peace and Power,
Rishabh
