Basics of a human being: Desire

Humans always ask for more irrespective of how much they have at any instance of time.

You, me and everyone else show this character.

We seek more knowledge, more money, more fame, more of everything else what an individual aspire for.

For example: As of now, you only aspire or want to know the front-end part of the website development, but when you get that part, it’s not going to stop here, you’ll ask for more, you will have a desire to know more.

Then, you’ll no longer have the same respect for front-end web development as you’ve now. That will just look pretty simple thing to you and you’ll no more appreciate yourself for the knowledge you’ve acquired.

It’s our tendency.

In this race of chasing one thing after another, we often forget to be grateful for the things that we have learned and have right at the moment.

This does not happen only once.

It happens every time and with everyone, because at it’s core we all are humans.

It’s a never-ending cycle.

It’s like climbing up the ladder. When you reached the intermediate part of the ladder, you no longer appreciate yourself for the work you’ve done till now, but you’ll become crazy to reach the topmost part of the ladder.

The things used to excite you will no longer excite you.

So, what does that mean?

Is it a bad thing or a good one?

Can’t say about this, as of now.

But one thing is for sure, it’s a bad thing because it does not let us appreciate the moment, not grateful for all of the things we’ve right at the moment, but always excited about the things we want.

This means we will not be happy and satisfied at any point in time but will always being excited about the other things.

However, it can be rectified by being grateful for all of the things we have in present, by appreciating your true self for the achievements it has achieved till now. That will for sure bring more happiness and peace.

Frog in monkey mind.

It’s also a good thing because desire put us forward. It acts as a fuel for the engine. If there will be no desire, then what will move us forward? Does having no desire also means no action? No direction? Life full of boredom? Can’t say about it as of now. This is something I would like to explore in my near future and come back to the point.

Ending note: At the end of the day, be grateful for whatever you know now, you learned to date, you have at the moment.

Peace and Power.
